Orange Pi One Plus/Lite2 has 3D acceleration now - rauli - 01-24-2021

Hi,
Sunxi has released a Debian Buster & Ubuntu Focal images with Mesa & Kernel Panfrost drivers.

See attached screenshot. glmark2 runs with over 40fps on many benchmarks.

I have tried to build Retropie & failed. First a mupen64plus.so was missing, so I installed with apt-get & copied it to build folder but then it said could not install some dependencies. I tried building with generic-x11 & Odroid-c2 profiles.

Ubuntu Focal image is a bit buggy. I had to reset apt before I could install anything from repos.

I am not sure how to build successfully.

Hi Rauli
where you downloaded this image?

Download from https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12krDZeCafIGq7NpNJjptDx4AfYnVTYrR
get Focal Desktop version

You need to reset apt, its cache is damaged.

First use command to find file you need to edit

grep -r GzipIndexes /etc/apt

then edit found file, scroll down, change & save (nano available)
Acquire::GzipIndexes "true";
TO
Acquire::GzipIndexes "false";

Finally...

Delete apt list cache
rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists

And then finally update
apt-get update

Now apt works.
There is a Debian image also, does not have an apt cache bug but Debian has less software in repositories.

XFCE gui is not sluggish anymore, because finally has video 2d/3d acceleration.

Where are the RetrOrangePi sources?

I saw someone edit RetroPi for a RockPro64 compile.

It includes a compile flag to indicate OpenGLES. One Plus/Lite2 Panfrost drivers support OpenGL 2.1 & OpenGLES 3.0 but probably better to use OpenGLES 2 instead.

I did try it a while ago but it failed I think. You can only compile with one job because of ram limits (make -j1).
